Inspiron 6400 paint

The spec stickers started peeling off a while ago, so I ripped them off, leaving a big blob of glue. I tried to gently scrape it off with a key, which weakened the paint, but didnt really leave any marks. I went home and took the blob off with alcohol, and the weakened part of the paint came off. Now I have a bit on my chasis where the paint is peeled off and the white comes out from underneath, which is really bugging me.

Is there any paint I can buy that will match the chasis paint, or a certain colour. It's annoying that it isn't matte, but can you guys help me?

Urgh, I wouldn't do that if I were you. You need to sand a bit, get just the right shade, and so on... and even then it is quite likely that unless you are experienced and skilled with painting such items it will only turn out looking just as bad, if not worse. I'd just find a different sticker or something (maybe a sports team you support, or anything really) and cover it that way. Not much else to be done without spending some dough on a new palmrest or something.

Getting a new palmrest was my first choice, but I couldn't find any anywhere on the internet, including eBay. It's in a bit of an angle, so a sticker wouldnt be that great, but I was also thinking of that. How much would a new palmrest cost, and where can I find one?

You can get one from parts-people for US$34.95. They are seconds though, so make sure that you leave a message or speak to someone to check that it is in good condition first. http://www.parts-people.com/index.ph...41&prevstart=0

It seems that these are used palmrests, meaning they're going to be scratched and it'll just defeat the purpose.
