I have just finished installing a core solo T1350 @1.87ghz into a compaq presario C503WM The notebook came with a celeron 430 @1.73ghz It works perfect. SuperPi : with celeron: 42.557 sec with T1350 : 34.975 sec passmark v 6.1 with celeron: 269.0 with T1350 : 307.7 Everest with celeron: read - 3334 write - 1126 with T1350: read - 3397 write - 1205 With the new T1350 CPU the system is smoother, and runs programs faster, without the "celeron" type hang ups. I bought the processor from e-bay for $45 bucks. All in all a good upgrade for $45.

I spent over 3 hours trying to get a straight answer from HP but I was extremely disappointed with their customer service. The online help disconnected me several times, and the phone support people have no idea what a white list. I even talked to the wireless support department (if they even have one of those), spent 1+ hours on the phone while the tech support flips through manuals, but no luck. I am a bit tapped out in cash at the moment, but if I get a chance to purchase a card, I will likely go with the BCM94321CM card to see whether that works or not. There is a person on eBay selling the card (from China) for US$53 shipped. I purchased the Atheros card from him. It comes with 3 antennas. But afaik the Broadcom a/b/g/n card looks like it only has 2 wifi antenna connectors soldered on to the board. This eBayer also sells the HPQ version of the BCM94321CM (uses the exact same chip as the Broadcom branded, except that it has the HP part # on the card). I tried to ask him whether BCM card will be identical to the HP branded BCM card, but no replies. The HP card cost $63 shipped. I will report back if I do decide to try out with the upgrade.
