Well, I received my new machine with no problems. Everything is working great. It's SUPER FAST. I'm running all my current games at top everything.

My system: AMD FX-51
1 Gig Corsair RAM
Radeon 9800 XT 256 MB
160 GB 7200 rpm Serial ATA Raid 0
Sound Blaster Audigy 2

So... here is my first Benchmark:

Wow! Nice man!

Glad to hear you're digging the Aurora...If I got a tower, it would be the Aurora. Such a nice looking machine.

Thanks!

I understand that there are some things I can do to get that benchmark higher apparently? I just ran it right out of the box without doing anything special.

$2790

I left out the extra optical drive, the software extras, and even the monitoring software. No mouse or keyboard either.

But hey -- pretty good price for an alienware extreme huh?

Yikes. Didn't see this post until now.

I got a Cyborg Green. I was close to getting a Martian Red, but my wife said she thought the green was most identifiable with Alienware, so that's what I got.

I too thought about a laptop... but in the end I need staying power, and so I went with what would give me maximum power -- a desktop maxed out.

I also looked at Voodoo...but they were approaching double the cost for the same components.... I just couldn't justify that.

I'm glad I went Alienware. I've had wonderful customer service so far.
