Hitachi Travelstat 160gb VS Vantec Nexstar 3

Simple question: Is the Hitachi Travelstar 160gb 5,400RPM is compatible with the Vantec Nexstar 3 SATA Drive Enclosure?


I recently buyed this enclosure and a Seagate Momentus 100gb 7,200RPM to replace my slower Hitachi Travelstar 160gb drive. When I put the Seagate in the Nexstar 3 enclosure, it works flawlessly, but I can't get the Hitachi to even start spinning. I put it back in my notebook and it works as it should..

Any idea?

did you make sure you're lining the pins up correctly when you put it in the enclosure?

How about power? plug both USB ends into the laptop. Also, see about plugging it into another computer, preferably a desktop.

The hitachi uses perpendicular recording which makes it almost as fast as a 7200rpm drive ! OMG
