what are your is your 7800GTX OC'ed at?

Thread Starter
Just curious about what others run their core and mem speed at for the go7800GTX, so please post what you run

Had mine in 440 core and 1150 Mem but changed it now to 430 core and 1200 mem. Isn't 460 on the core a little too much? Doesn't the card get hot? Maybe I should try to change to 460 me too and just see what temps I hit.

450/1200 here - been running that for over a year now, with no probs at all.

I am running mine at 440/1250 and its stable now for over 1 year. I have to say its still a great card just wish I could run it with merom!!
I suppose I'll have to consider upgrading to the next Dell refresh

What temperatures are you getting. I was running 430/1150 on 84.?? drivers about 3 weeks ago before I switched to the new 94 ones. However, those drivers don't seem to suit me as my cpu doesnt stay at 0% in idle like it did with the 84 drivers. Also 3Dmark dropped a lot but I'm not sure if that is because my overclocked settings reset back to normal after switching driver versions. On 430/1150 I used to hit 95 C with HL2 maxed out.

Been running at 451/1300 for a few days now, after opening up the system, thoroughly cleaning the fans, heat fins, grilles, etc., and reapplying AS5 to the GPU. I also BIOS flashed to JuanLu's unlocked frequencies 7800 GTX BIOS and can OC in the drivers now. Idles at 55C and maxes out at 90C at 1920x1200. At stock clocks it idles at 50C and maxes out around 85C. Note that I applied a +7 deg offset to RivaTuner which I use to monitor the temps because by default it underreports temps compared to the temp the driver gives.

Hmm I use i8kFanGui and I must offset with +10 since Nvidia Control Panels reports the same. Actually playing HL2 with everything maxed out or even better HL2 Episode One with all settings including 16xAA and 16xAF I would like to see people hitting 90c and not higher with 1920x1200. Hard to believe that and with such a high overclock to especially to the memory.

I think the memory can go much higher actually, this is just the limit for the drivers. I have heard of people running 7800 GTX memory at 1400 or 1500. As always do it in increments and check for artifacts/high temps though.

I'm not quite sure I understood your post though. Are you stating your results or challenging others to match that?

A little off topic but does anyone know where I can find a diagram of the 7800go gtx, specifically the location of the STRAP_SUB_VENDOR pin?
your title says Adios! but you can still post... unless you JUST got banned? whats up with that?

and no I don't know where you could get a diagram like that. probably nowhere.
I decided to be stupid and put "Adios!" as my user title one day...Im kinda surprised nothing has been done about it. Anyway, yeah I'm trying to flash a completely dead card right now and I have no clue where that safety pin is

I am not overclocked now, but I think you would be safe at 430/1200 especially if you have one of the cooler (rev2?) 7800's.

Mine will clock a 'bit' higher than that and mine is a hot card even for the old revision. I just don't need the speed right now. (Civ IV, Rome:TW)
