I have an inspiron 1501 and am having troubles confirming the correct video drivers to download for the most up-to-date vista drivers. This laptop has a turion64 processor and an ati 1150 video chipset. The best I can figure is that this here http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/v...d-vista32.html Is what I need but I'd like some confirmation on this before I go foward with any updates from dell's defaults. (this is actually a computer for my girlfriend's mom, and I just want everything to be as up to date as possible before we give it to her. Thanks in advance folks

well i dont know much about ati as i use intel all the time. But if its from the offical site, then it should work. even if for some reason it doesnt, u can always restore back to the original defaults. im sure others would confirm ur question.

okay, I guess my real question then is to whether the chipset in the laptop is indeed the ATI 1100 northbridge/southbridge comobo that is listed on the ATI site. I haven't dealt with Dell laptops other than my inspiron 9300 which is all intel. Any more info that sheds light on this subject would be greatly appreciatvie.

Engineer:

I’m at Dell Headquarters in Austin, Texas and I just came across this thread. I did find the 1150 driver on ATI's site and it may work fine but the only supported on would be our own from support.dell.com. Is there an issue you're having with the Dell one or were you just looking for the latest one?
