I was on google looking for pictures of the XPS symbols and found the picture below. That isnt me, my laptop, nor is it my picture but I though the size of that laptop was just funny

Thought I would share and maybe give someone else a little chuckle.

That was the first XPS, it used a P4 CPU (extreme edition too), and Dell got the Mobility Radeon 9800 exclusivity from ATI and was the best gaming laptop of its time.

Some people even unlocked the extra pipelines of that card.

Why? It is smaller than the M1710, mind you. Yeah, so it's a half inch or so fatter, but it's 15", so the overall volume is smaller, and the weight was roughly the same, as far as I remember. So, what's so funny?

Whats funny is that its thick as hell, and that guy probably cant have any more children with the xps 1 on his nuts. And of course its smaller, the screen is 2 inches smaller. It would be kind of weird to have a screen bigger than the chasis.

Plus its rare to find 15 inch notebooks that can outweigh its 17 inch couterparts.

Exactly. Not to mention the thing was thicker then my thickest school book. Something else funny is that you (prix) have the time to argue the fact I though the size of that laptop (thickness) was funny... Good call there

I thought the same about my Gen1. Put it on my lap and I can sterilize myself (I had 3 girls at the time)... Well I have my son now...

If I'm not wrong, it was a bit heavier than the actual XPS but not by much. I remember that by that time my boss was looking for a new laptop and I told him that was a great choice; and when he saw the skull paint it had he decided to wait. Two weeks later the Inspiron 9200 was available here in Colombia and he bought it.

May be a problem with reading comprehension there. I wasn't "arguing" anything, I was just asking. So now you tell me by "size" you meant "thickness", and that's what you find funny. Fine.

I had the same one (though it was the Inspiron 9100). It looked real thick compared to my friend's M170. I think its the base design that makes it look thicker than it is.

Best laptop I have ever owned. Bought it in Aug 04. Waiting for DX10 to be ported to the laptops before I pull the trigger on a new lappy.

Too funny and very true, my i9100 is a brick and gets very hot, much hotter than my e1705. For three year old machine it is still smokin' fast.
