Wasn't all that long ago, folks!
So I'm curious as to just what it is that you are all putting on your hard drives to load them up.
I upgraded from an 80gb to a 120gb last year, and I still have 50gb free.

Lots and lots of porn, lol. No on a real note, lots and lots of games. Some games I have take up between 3-9 gigs.

Mainly games take up my HD, also now that I've discovered DVDfab, i'll probably burn a ton of movies onto the harddrive, which will cause me to need an external most likely.

i have an 80 gb internal and a 120gb ex....both of them are pratically used up with movies like pdonket said, and games, The Sims2 took up a large amount of space on my external....i really need a 1TB WD Book that would be very nice....

That was before M$ made bloatware. Windows 2000 was a good size that could have been optimized as XP not completely rewritten and 100 times larger.

Regardless... A "bloated" OS has nothing to do with what the user stores on their hard drive. Let's keep OS choice opinion and the inevitable flaming-****-fest that ensues out of my happy lil' "What's on your hard drive?" thread, m'kay?

Bloated OS?....Heh everything is bloated these days. No one spends the time to really optimize their code anymore.

I used up all my 4 - 120gb externals and 160gb internal only have about 35gb left. I got my 9400 just 2 months ago
Many Games, DVD, and DVDrip.

I dunno. I just had a space to fill, and figured if anyone would have plans to take over the galaxy, they would likely be here on this forum.

Most of my space is lost to games, steam takes up a lot of space but it doesnt matter. I actually have to get ride a dvd off my lappy to do a Dual-Boot with Vista.

Another space eater is video podcast, so basically its 1.) Games, then 2.) Video Podcast.

Anyone here who says text and office files needs to figure out plan B.

I have over 40 apps of all different kinds on my backup drive and it takes up about 150GB.

Well ive got a 120gig usb drive full of Warez, and 50gig of my 100gig internal drive full of warez
post #16 of 35
I have a lot of everything, and I do remember back in the day when a 40Gb harddrive was huge and people told me "You'll never fill up a 40Gb harddrive, so why spend the extra money on it?" and this wasn't even that long ago.

Once I got DSL, and Napster got popular. It was over with.

Uhmm, who is supposed to have said that, "not long ago"? Just curious...
I think once I subscribed to a Usenet server it necessitated a 400GB external. Now that external "only" has 80GB left

About half games, about half movies and TV. I voted porn though because it's gonna be funny when it wins the vote

I also do a lot of video and audio recording/editing which can take up a good 2GB per minute.

You're not quite thirty yet, are ya?
"Not long ago" is a rather relative phrase, I guess, huh?
Don't come in here just to piss on my parade, Pirx, lest you forget I'm every bit the cynical prick you are.
