HD capable cards

Sorry, but HD is too short to use the search function.

I was wondering what videocards are capable of sending HD video files out to an HD capable TV. I believe the 7950 is one of them, are there any others?

you kidding? Computers have been capable of high definition video for YEARS. The deal lies mainly with the newer HD-DVD and Bluray requiring HDCP compliance in video cards and monitors. I don't beleive any of Dell's laptops are HDCP compliant as of yet though.

Like he said. Just about all cards in our computers can now send out HD to TVs. Find out your TV's Native resolution and connect you ocmputer via VGA/DVI/DVI to HDMI and set you video card to display your tvs native resolution and you are good to go. There is no real special feature allowing this. You can search HD Video and you will find many WMP samples that are in 720p and 1080i and some even in 1080p. Try them out...

Heh sorry I am a bit under educated. I kinda just ignored HD everything for some years since I make a third world salary and decent HD Tv's finally became a reasonable price here. Thanks a lot for the education.

if you do try hooking up your laptop with a dvi to hdmi capable, you won't always get picture. some tv's are fussy about it like some of the newer samsungs. i just want to give you a heads up, that it might not work depending on the tv. this might be irrelevant to you, since you may not have a dvi on your laptop in the first place. if you do, then i'd suggest heading over to http://www.avsforums.com, and do a search on your tv.

This is very depressing for me, living in Canada and still not having an HDTV :P Glad to hear you're getting a leg up on us! Good on ya, mate
