Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 Ultra driver problems

Thread Starter
I have been using Vista for quite awhile and after a few weeks my computer suddenly froze while i was playing this i rebooted and the same thing kept happening till the computer wouldnt even start unless in Safe mode or with a live OS, I repartitioned and reformated and then installed XP and my computer lets me load my Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 Ultra driver, but once i restart and let it take effect, my computer then wont start it will just go blank before it would normally go to my desktop. Also, the logo screen has graphical lines down the logo that shows up every time I restart my computer, anyone know what the problem is? I have tried multiple drivers that were compatible with the same result.

Thanks,
I have an XPS M170 with 100gig HDD and 2gigs of Ram

Your Videocard is likely the culprit and may need to be replaced. As for the lines if you could plug into an external display such as a VGA/DVI monitor or TV see if the lines show up on the external display as well if yes then its DEFINITELY the video card.
