T7200 or T7600?

Question:
Laptop is Asus G1
Is it worth 500.00 to upgrade from a Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0GHz) to a T7600 (2.33GHz)?

Thank you in advance!

I can't answer your question specifically.. but here's what I -can- offer:

I recently bought my wife a C2D 1.83ghz, a buddy of mine has a C2D 2.0ghz. I can't tell the difference between the 2 in terms of browsing the net, listening to music, doing some heavy duty excel/word stuff.

can't do the games comparison because this has an integrated graphics card and his is dedicated. hope that helps.

to sum it up, if I were you,I wouldn't pay the extra 500 bucks.

500 bucks!

it is definitely not worth it for the benefit you would see - mostly in benchmark programs, real usage wouldn't really be affected.

think what else you could get with that 500 bucks!

i gotta say helllll no! :P
i've gone from a 1.83 yonah to a 2.0 merom...not a huge boost i gotta say.
well not a 500 dollars worth boost.
ii suggest u put that money towards ram/HD upgrades which will be cheaper still!
but if u think it's worth it, go ahead it's ur money afterall.
don't expect a 30% increase hehe..i'm gonna say 5-10%...especially since no programs actually require that much horsepower!
4mb l2 cache!!! vrrrrroom

+1 to not worth it. Honestly 500 bucks for a 330mhz increase in frequency. Thats what, 15% higher. Save your money and blow it on alcohol... It will be a better investment.

The difference between T7200 and T7600 is not worth the 500 bucks. Both have the same cache, same FSB and use the same power at 34watt. For hardcore gaming a stronger CPU would make sense (the T7600 increases about 200 points the 3DMark06 in comp. with the T7200) otherwise it is not worth it...

Nope right now the T7200 is the best bang for your buck. Save your money.

You'll get 10% more performance in some CPU-intensive apps and probably lose some battery life. For $500? Definitely not worth it.
