Check this link out: http://forums.us.dell.com/supportfor...ssage.id=78441

Among other things, it states:

There seeem to be a lot of you who are concerned because you think that your computer is just sitting there wating to be boxed for days. It's actually in transit from the Dell manufacturing facility in Malaysia, where it was built and tested, to the Dell Nashville facility, from where it will ship. This process usually takes about 3 business days, with one additional day for packaging and shipment from Nashville There is no need for concern as this is completely normal. Thanks.

You know.. you gotta love as Karl put it "Useless Parcel Service".... they have the box with the stupid backpack schedule for delivery today, but the box with the laptop is still at the distribution center an hour away (or maybe on its way here) and they claim they can't get it here today... so looks like I'll have a nifty bag today, but no laptop... ARRRGGG

Panther04 after all the trouble and disappointment you've been through since the middle of Feb Dell should give you the damn laptop for free or at least 50% off

Igriffin so does that mean I won't see my system till next week if I ordered it next day and it just went into boxing last night? If so I'll stop checking for my tracking for a few days.

Thanks

Mine is scheduled for next day delivery as well. I'm hoping that, since i just saw mine hit "Boxing" this morning, that it will arrive on or before Friday. My fingers are crossed.

However, at this point, I'm sort of gotten used to have a broken machine. I've even come up with ways to make it play longer before overheating. I place the computer on this T.V. tray-stand that is made out of bamboo. There's lots of holes on the top where the bamboo pieces don't intersect exactly. I'm guessing, since the iXPS gets it's ventilation through the bottom, it really loves being on that T.V. tray-stand, because it can keep cool. Placing the laptop on there allows me to play sometimes for an hour and a half, sometimes for only 5 minutes before the GPU geeks out.

I could only wish... ugh... its just killing me that UPS can be so incompetent with this type of stuff... both boxes were in the main distribution point at the same damn time, yet UPS only grabbed the backpack box... AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGG

I sold my old Acer last week so I only have a desktop for now. But i'm working a couple of doubles this weekend and was hoping to have mine. I was so close to buying the new Toshiba p25 s670 it has the Nvidia 5700 fx go in it but I can't seem to find out how it will perform compared to the Radeon yet. If Circuit City had one their return poicy is so good I'd consider giving it a spin to see which laptop I prefer more, but they don't have one yet. I'm just a little worried about the 15.4 giving me massive eye strain reading web pages

2 or 3 days, probably varies with Customs.

The day your machine hits boxing, it's actually leaving Malaysia. Takes around 3 days at that point to get to Nashville where the stuff is packed together (AC adapter, documentation, software CD's, etc). Then it's shipped to you.

Not too sure on mine... it was in Testing... moved backwards to just "InProduction", and then it never moved again on the dell site until it actually shipped... my system left Malaysia on Friday, was in the states Saturday, and shipped out from Dell on Saturday... it then showed up here today!

Panther04 are you happy with so far? Is reading text on the WUXGA screen good or rough on the eyes? Hopefully your enjoying the hell out of the thing after all you've been through. Bogus just recieved his as well I think he was in the same boat as you waiting since Feb as well. But he was having a little trouble running Call of Duty I think he used the powerstrip fix though. Hopefully his GPU is not bad.
