Hey guys i have my eyes on the dell 9100 with a 2.8P4 and radeon 9700 128MB and ofcourse a 60gb 7200RPM hard drive..well this will be my first laptop (if i actually do get it lol) and are there any hard drive cooling options available for laptops?..cause i dont dare running any of my 7200RPM hard drives without a hard disk cooler (basically throws cool air directly on the hard drive).my second question is that how exactly is playing CS like on a Dell 9100?..is the ghosting really noticible?.are there any REFRESH rate problems like nvidia has in winxp..so in order to make it like for example 85hz @1024X768 (17" monitor) u gotta apply a patch...and is there any stuttering in the game?.i heard the radeons have issues with counterstrike....and i love playing it in OPENGL mode..thank u for ur time

I dont think so, but you could get a cooling pad under it which would help the overall temp

If you try a normal cooling pad, the antec will not fit the xps/9100. I tried, the legs on the xps hang over and it rests on the chasis. Check the measurements when you buy.

Sorry, I can't help on the CS part, mine was sent back for refund.

did you return it cause it sucked? or did you just not play it at all? it looks pretty good to me.

If its any help, and the reason why you're asking about CS has got to do with its OpenGL performance on ATi cards, then i can tell you that it plays great on my M10 at 1920 X 1200.

I consistenly get 72 fps at WUXGA resolution.

Try the pad, or call them and ask them, or maybe even ..dare I say.. return it?

The machine is what I returned, not the game. The performance of the machine seemed excellent in the short time I had one, and although I have no doubts the machine will handle CS with ease on full settings, I never had the chance to try. Below is why I returned my machine.

Unfortunately, you may have trouble finding this information right now. There are only 13 systems I know of on this forum. Eight of which needed updates on the gpu that are being sorted out. Because of the delay in production of the xps/9100, they are just getting the rest onto market. It looks like there will be a few (mainly in Canada) on Monday, so it will probably be another week before you will hear back. I would definately bump the thread again early next week. My only experience was playing Max Payne 2 while I was testing, the play seemed flawless.
