Need help with Fujitsu B2630

I have a fujitsu B2630 which comes stock with a Mini-PCI LAN card, I figure I remove the LAN card and throw in a Atheros Mini-PCI Wireless LAN card and add some antennas but that did not go smooth. The card appeared a couple of times in Windows XP and worked fine but soon as I rebooted it disappeared completely and never saw it again, does not even appear in Device Manager. If anyone has figured out a fix please let me know.
