Daily tech article

That is the one I took the pic of them from. Your right though, news of it is everywhere. Hope it's true.

I'd like to get my hands on one of those...I hope I'm that lucky...those things are gonna fly off the shelves faster than the original 360 and the PS3 combined...the limited-ness just adds to the demand for them...

The Wii is a very unique experience. It's a great party console, and wonderful if you are more about lighthearted and fun gameplay. The biggest game for the Wii that people are talking about is Zelda. I haven't had the chance to play it myself, but apparently the graphics are astounding, and the game is very engaging. I like the Wii because it is set apart from the other consoles, putting more emphasis on levels of interaction instead of pure graphical might.

Thought I'd add something about the Wii in there for ya.

I also will have to vouch for the 360. As far as its game selection and features go, you'll have a lot of fun with it. For maximum enjoyment, have handy a widescreen LCD or plasma and surround sound.

cool thanks, that just makes the decision a bit tougher though

Haha, I figured it would.

The best way to choose is to play each one at a friend's house, or on a store display. It's all about which console fits you best.

huh? The 360 and PS3 still look spectactular even if you don't have a Hi-Def TV. I mean HD does make the PS3 and 360 games look better but it just makes it look better, it won't help the gameplay or anything, it'll just make it look better. Yeah I may have to get an Elite too, or I'll just paint it black and put in a 120 GB HDD. Pff, HDMI, thats for people with nice Tvs Also, do you think MS will release something so you can put your gamercard + other downloads onto your new HDD?

I wasn't saying the 360 and PS3 only look good on Hi-Def TVs ... my understanding is the Wii is a pretty nice system. It's cheaper than the other 2, and is a good deal if you're not looking for high end graphics.

If you do have a Hi-Def TV, the extra expense of the PS3 or 360 may be worth it for the movies...

There's lots of chat on the net about the gamertag transfer ... should be interesting. I lost about 1500 points when I gave my Australian Xbox 360 away...

I'm going for the 360 no doubt. PS3 is just a bit too expensive right now and I could justify building me a new DYI rig for that price.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not fanboying for any console, I love my console collection but I'm just waiting some more time to see how this evolves. I'm going for the 360 because of graphics/games/price ratio and perhaps throw a Wii into the mix later on.

I want black 360!!
Well I have all 3!!!!
So I can speak from experience.

360 is a f'n BEAST!!!! Every time I turned around I was like "Damn they really nailed that feature better than I could have dreamed!" HUGE Library FULL of A+++ games, online (while its 50$/year) smokes-SMOKES PS3 and WII put together!!!! With the upcoming ELITE version they addressed EVERY sortcoming of the original system (color, hdd size, hdmi).

PS3 is TRASH!!! Every time I turned around I was like "Damn they fcuked up that feature worse that I could have imagined!" There are NO games, they will come.... eventually, but the hardware is so awful it just isnt worth it. No matter when the GOOD games come out, the PS3 hardware is so awful......

Wii is cool, but its just a supersized gamecube, not a next gen system. While the controllers are cool, the novelty wore off, I spend most of my time playing retro games that play better on their original console. And the wii just doesnt stack up to the nextgen games of either ps3 or 360. Forget online play as is is not more than a ghost, and nintendo is notorious that if it aint available at launch it prolly will be vapor ware for the life of the console.

how will people be able to get the Elite? it sounds like there won't be enough to go around and people are much much more fanatical than I, do I have a chance?
Well its like the Wii in terms of avaibility. Its gonna be really hard to find, and is gonna be in high demand. And sorry Shazza for misunderstanding, I don't have good communcation skills. And that sucks thay you lost points, man, I want my gamerscore to go up not down! Achievement Whores, unite!

well the majority of the vote says I should go for a 360. sorry PS3, but you're just too expensive. sorry Wii, but you're games are just lousy...it looks like...the Xbox 360 won the poll!!.....unless someone else votes for something else...even though I've pretty much made up my mind now...thanks everyone!

P.S. I am open minded so someone can still convince me to go otherwise...

If your going with the 360 here are some games that you should check out
Halo 2 (I know its Xbox but still great game online and off)
Gears of War
Hitman Blood Money
Splinter Cell Double Agent
Viva Pinata (may seem childish, but really fun and addicting. Give it a try and you'll become hooked!)
Call of Duty 2
Crackdown
College Hoops 2K7
TMNT
Virtua Tennis 3 (suprisingly fun)
Fight Night Round 3
EDF 2017
+ tons of others.
A lot of those you can just rent, but like SC: DA, Gears of War, Hitman, College Hoops 2k7, and Viva Pinata, I suggest you buy them. Don't forget to get
XBOX LIVE!!!

what about a really cheap 20" lcd? I can't enjoy all these games without something adequate to show them on...

How big is your TV? I have a 27" Magnavox and its perfect. You don't need HD to have fun with a 360. HD is just icing on the cake.

I think its about 27" but I'm looking in the $200-350 price range because I'm spending most of my money on the 360 and games, and I have yet to get a job. I know that its not about the screen but about the games...but...

I have both a 360 and a Wii. I love them both. I got the 360 at launch and the Xbox Live features are fantastic. I don't use them that often but the online interface isn't matched by any of the other consoles. It also has a ton of great games, great graphics and is a bit cheaper than the PS3. I wasn't really excited for the Wii and I haven't had a Nintendo console since the original 8-bit system. But I saw one available after I heard the buzz. I have to say it's a ton of fun. Nintendo does its own thing and the games may not be considered "mature" but they really just are a lot of fun to to play. And Zelda is really good too. Good luck with the decision.

Not in a big hurry as I just switched my hd dvd rentals over to blue ray for now. Wish they would offer me a step-up to the elite. Guess I'll have to ask about it sometime.
Hulioni, not sure when you got your 360 but I had that problem happen to me twice within the first year. Microsoft admitted to having a problem in the first batch of consoles that was causing them to fail if I remember right. Since the second repair (early this past fall), I haven't had a problem. If you haven't called yet, I would because it was covered under the 1 year warranty (Microsoft extended it to 1 year because of the problems). They might try to make you pay $30 to extend the warranty another year in which case you'll have to wait 30 days for it to kick in. This is just what I've heard.

Hey piperp, about how long did it take for them to get the 360 back to from service? I just bought it in jan so I should be fine on the warranty part of it. Just wondered how long it might take for the turn around.
