I wanted to start a business of fixing up laptops and reselling them.
I noticed on ebay that guides to fix on every laptop.
I wondering do I still need this dvd and where do I find parts?

Read the rules. No ebay links allowed.
And relying on a DVD to help fix laptops 2000 $ + isn't the best idea. I would definately not let anyone who is relying on a DVD to fix my laptop.

You obviously have no idea about businesses, or laptops, otherwise u wouldn't be relying on DVD's or other people.

I suggest u take a course or two in computer hardware or some business classes and then rethink ur idea.

Given the fact that you obviously have no idea about laptop repair, I wouldn't give your business venture a good chance of success; however, in the interest of helping, I'd suggest starting small. The very nature of laptops is going to make it extremely difficult.

It might be more profitable to get your hands on several broken laptops and attempt to sell whatever parts you can salvage from them to start with. As your inventory of laptop parts grow, there might be an occasion where you can put together one good laptop from several bad, paint it up, and sell it for a reasonable profit, but your bread and butter will be in the parts you can garner.

Eventually, you might find a niche you can fill ...certified service in your area, retail outlet, etc ...kind of like a junk dealer might grow into a service garage then into a car dealership. The business model is sound because it's been done ...just depends on if you are a savvy enough business person to make it work.

To fix laptops you need vendor agreements for warranty parts and labor reimbursement. This requires a large credit account with someone like GE or such. Then on top of that you better be well bonded and insured.

BTW - Fixing laptops is not something you learn from a DVD, you need to start in a shop and get some training from a pro. You need to find a place to learn this, there are mistakes that could cost you a lot of money, proper grounding comes to mind, using plastic case crackers, etc...

I would say it took me a year to develop spot on diagnostics skills, and that's key. If you diagnose a mobo, and the actual issue is a bad dc/dc converter there is a chance that you just ate a $2000 part. You assume this cost, not your customer, and that's where it's nice to have a shop behind you.

You people are insane.

HE IS A SPAMMER WHO'S TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO LOOK AT HIS EBAY LISTING.

Does anyone actually believe that there are people out there that stupid?

Start a business of fixing peoples laptops going off of a dvd?

I just might decide to peruse Ebay's motor section, get me a fix cars DVD and open a used Saturn dealership.

Yes those kinds of work take a lot of knowledge and a lot of hard work. You can just get an airbrush and paint and have it turn out to be some beautiful piece of art. You dissemble a laptop then assemble it and have it turn into some laptop that looks like wood. It takes a lot of skill, a large amount of money, and dedication. I can only tell if you are missing 2 of these (skill, dedication, I don't know how much $$ you have) and you definately don't have them...
