General XPS 1210 questions. Please help!!

Hi guys,

I'm looking into getting the XPS 1210 as a gift for my cousin and he had a few questions so I thought I'd ask here.

1) How much memory is dedicated to the Nvidia Geforce Go 7400 128MB or 64MB??
These two sites have conflicting info:
http://www.notebookreview.com/defaul...S+M1210+Review
which says "256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 TurboCache (64MB/ up to 192MB shared)"
And the dell website says: "The total of local and shared system memory used by this graphics card is up to 256MB. Local on-board memory is 128MB. Up to 128MB of system memory is allocated to support graphics, depending on system memory size and other factors."
2) What does the XPS 1210 score in 3DMARK05 and 3DMARK06?
3) What is the actual weight with the Nvidia 7400, the built-in webcam and 9-cell option?
4) Is there a docking station that the XPS 1210 can use which has DVI out?
5) Does the XPS 1210 come with a Trulife screen? If so is it matte or glossy?
6) Me and my friend both have the D-Link 625 Draft N router. How does the Dell 1500 wireless N card fare against the Intel Pro Wireless 3945 when used with a Draft N router?
7) What is the battery life with the 6-cell and 9-cell batteries?

Thanks alot in advance for taking the time to answer these questions for me guys!!

1) 64mb is dedicated the other 192 is shared
2) im not sur what it scores there, but in super pi i get 2m in about 1 min 2 seconds.
3) i just weighed my 1210 so ur lucky.. it comes in at 4.9 pounds with all those same options u had listed.
4) dont know this
5) comes with a true life screen and its glossy... i've got nothing but compliments on how good it looks though.
6) well if ur using draft N the intel card wont do u any good, it doesnt support N, so if thats what u want u only have one option for a draft N wireless card.
7) my 9 cell gives me about 3.5 hours with all powersaving options OFF, i leave them off cause i am a speed kind of guy... with them on i was getting about 5.5 hours on battery, cant comment on 6 cell though.

WOW thanx alot for the rapid and thorough response I appreciate it.
As for question one how did you confirm that? And if thats true then why is Dell posting misleading information? Windows Vista actually allows more shared memory I kno from experience with my HP dv2000t so maybe more mem is shared with The Vista version of M1210.
Anyone else care to comment?

the bios shows 64 is dedicated...

2) 3DMark05 - 2101, 3DMark06 - 7213. That was just after reformatting and re-installing Windows, drivers, etc. Super Pi at the same time was 1m 3s for 2M. Not great numbers but certainly adequate for medium gaming.

4) No there isn't any M1210 specific docking station. There are docking stations you can buy that hook in via USB, but I haven't seen any that deliver DVI out. As well, the output resolution on the ones I've seen is far less than what the video card is capable of. I've got my VGA port plugged into an LG 20" widescreen at 1680x1050.

7) From what I've read, the 6 cell should give about 3 1/2 hours under normal use. I have not tested that however.

Vista does share more memory with the video card. My computer says that it has 64 MB dedicated + 495 MB share for a total of 559 MB available graphics memory.

If your getting this to play new games get something else. It's really starting to chug on new games. Older games it handles pretty well.
