Ordered 1712 and 8790/New Gaming Chair

just ordered both. 1712 and 8790. fully geared. i am still in too much shock to talk about it right this second. my partner gets the one i dont want to keep.

also, FYI, we are helping design a new gaming chair with our asian parners. can i get some good, honest reliable feedback from hardcore gamers if i post the early designs and pictures under a new thread on this board?

also, we have been searching for the newest gaming chairs, can anyone provide good links, as it helps in design research?

any feedback as to what a hardcore gamer would look for in the ultimate gaming chair would be helpful! i have some great preliminary specs and outlines, but i want so see if they match up with popular consesus.

thanks in advance, i will post computer results after i recover from the heart attack after my bill arrives.

Gaming chair? Please take this in the spirit of honest critisism in which it is intended - I'm not just flaming randomly, here. I just don't see what the point of a "gaming chair" is. What could possibly optimize a chair for gaming? Unless you're talking about mounting the monitor/keyboard/mouse on the chair itself (and really, what would be the point...) the optimal gaming chair is: a very comfortable chair. I find chairs comfortable when they are well ventilated, have good lumbar support and are easily adjustable. For me, the Herman Miller Aeron Chair is a good choice, but for someone else, the preference could be totally different. I guess I don't think you'll be very sucessful marketing a "gaming" oriented chair. Instead, maybe you should focus on just making good furniture.

Hmm, maybe this chair would have a mouse built into the right armrest and a Nostromo SpeedPad in the left, speakers at the ends of the armrests, headrest speakers for rear surround (sorta like the Miata headrest speakers), subwoofer in the ass, and one of those VR helmets that come down over your head like the hairdryers at the beauty salon.

Hmm....yeaeeeahhhhhh.... don't forget a cooler on the side complete with a 6-pack, and this bastard better recline too!

don't forget to add one of thoes bass rummble things

Yes, I have one also on the way to review also. I think people are forgetting we're authorized Acer resellers =). I don't expect it to have great video performance, but it looks to be worth checking out.

Hi Adam,

you are a Acer reseller ??

WOW, so what do you think about add in your site a page for a full customization of an Aspire 171x monster to buy directly from you like the others Sagers ??

I think this model can be a nice brother for 8890's friends,
and someone of us are thinking about ordering it ....

I hope in your positive answer and I am happy to read the first 171x full review written by you, a very Expert of monster machines, I hope very soon.

Thanks in advance.

it doubles as a serious and comfortable chair.

the gaming mode is a feature of the chair.

and yes, a place for beverages is built it.

also, Adam, you are an authorized acer reseller??? where are your prices???

For Wizzer....

Honestly I don't consider myself a gamer, but I sit infront of the pc working hard around the clock... or should I say beside... we only have one LazyBoy and I have it... I would like to make a somewhat normal desk but taller becouse even when sitting up my knees hit most table and desks, the witch about having long legs.... I also have a very bumb leg that limits my sitting in regular chairs drasticaly to around 30-45 minutes, but when reclined with leg up I can sit for hours at a time without having to move except to go potty, smoke, or get a drink.. lol I have searched everywhere but have not seen a slim cushy recliner w/locking wheels so that I can still rol under a desk structure lock it and rock back and work.... I have seen on in person but no one at the VA can tell me where the freak it was purchased... course I chewed them out for lecturing me, that accomodations for working in an office environment could be made by the forest service and that I should not have resigned...blah blah blah... anyways thats the chair I want I can make desks and regular wood furnature, just don't know where tobegin with making the ultimate cushy recliner desk chair... oh and would be freaky awsume if it could telescope to bar stool height cuz I work at drafting tables all the time to... I am a broke lil freak atleast till I finish school.... so for price don't know 200 would be awsume... 500 would be pushing it....

We sell them mostly out of the store and by phone order. Just shoot the specs you want to us and we'll price it for you. Once I get a chance to look at it I'll decide if we should put it on our site. We used to list them, but they were always behind in releasing the latest GPUs and always used Centrino which I don't care for. I'm really interested in seeing this. They're using a 17" LCD which I asked Sager to try for many months ago in the 8890 when the 16" LCDs were hard to get and they said it would draw too much on the battery with all the other high end components.

lol who cares about battery life... well ok the flagstaff highland games are coming up and will have to demo my groups website in the middle of no where and can't just drive the truck in and run it on the voltage converter thingy and a generators just to loud for the common man.... trying to remeber the battery pack my uncle had for his 486 in 1991 it lasted like a day....

i want a chair that will keep me in a semi reclined position with a proper space for mouse use. there should also be proper space for keyboard use, and make sure it is non slip so that it can be used one handed.

armrests are a must, and use some material that keeps cool. i get hot while playing UT2k4 :P

i wouldnt pay more than 200 for such a chair.

Check this site out for ergonomic chairs, some of which are specifically designed for gamers. I think someone else posted it the other day on another thread. Very pricey, though! www.officeorganix.com

This rocks!!

Adam and Wizzer... I can not wait to get both of your reviews . I plan on buying the Acer 1712 or the 8890.

I'm really hoping you do one of your comprehensive reviews Adam. You owe it to your fans. You owe it to the .

um... the closest to what I am talking about is 1k and its not even cushy in my def... maybe I need to define my cushy, I am talking lazyboy plush cushy, cushy enough to sleep in all the time and not get uncomfortable.....

I apreciate the try, and hope they have stuff for other people there...

What I would like to have in a "Gamer's Chair" :-
====================================

1] Basically a "Lazyboy" design
2] beverage cooler under one arm-rest
3] Snacks under the other arm-rest
4] Speakers on the headrest / Headphone jack from the Headroom Bithead (ww.headphone.com) which has a USB cable that has to be fixed to the laptop when the laptop is placed on the station
5] Subwoofer under the seat or strapped to the back
6] Vibration device attached to make the seat shake in time with the bass
7] Suitable Laptop station (to place the laptop on without contact with the lap)
8] Laptop station has cooling fans on the bottom
9] Telephone extension
10] Remote control for opening the front door
11] CCTV to monitor the front door/main gate
12] CD/DVD rack (in place of the snack bar )
13] Suitable mousing surface in a comfortable position...
14] V8 engine
