Just off the warranty on a Fujitsu Lifebook T4020, and the fan started making noise like a helicopter. The notebook works, but overheats and slows down when it runs multiple processes. Here is the kicker: I've had the fan replaced for a new one, and the same problem persists. Lately the fan (the new one) is not working at all. The Fujitsu service techs are telling me it's a motherboard problem, and would be too pricey to replace the motherboard.

Any ideas? How hard is it to replace the board if I buy one separately?
Any help is appreciated.
