Hi all ! just letting u guys know im about to spray an alien head on my m9700. I would do it on the right next to the touch pad. I'll be using vinyl dye (VHT jet black gloss or satin black)

Here is the link : http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294846921

Its not even a spray paint its more like dye that sticks to plastic. If u guys have better suggestion for project of mine please do suggest. I will really appreciate before i do something that ill regret. Oh and if u have better product for plastic or specifically m9700 do let me know. Wish me luck. I wish i know how to tear of everything so can spray the green cyborg or even blue consipracy by my own but then thats too much.. hope this works well for me.

p/s: i think i shud give it some times like next week or the week after. I really want a cool alienhead (sticker wont do!) on that side of my laptop but i dont want to regret anything tho.

You'll void your warranty, I just want to tell you that just incase you didn't know that. That'll look awsome! Yeah Vinyl dye is the way to go! I heard its really easy, like how you don't have to do lots of coats, then let it dry, use wet sand paper, ect. Whenever your done, plz post pics! GL!

Keep in mind the m9700 is painted, so you'll be applying your spray over paint. I'm not sure the dye you're talking about is meant to be applied to paint.

Paint however, sticks to paint.

Hurm i called AW today and they said it will void only the case warranty. He double checked and reconfirmed to me that it will only void the case warranty. He also explains how if we change the RAM ourselves and instead the whole mobo blows or something, it will void everything but here let says we send our laptop in bcoz of the mobo or GPU problem but we have the case painted, it wont effect the warranty of the GPU or mobo. But however, let says u get ur laptop back and noticed theres a big scratch or any defects on the case. AW will not liable as its already void the warranty case. So from this information, I decide to search for temporary paint or whatever that is removable (i mean as removable as sticker) to make this cool alienhead or "alienware" sign together with my name. Any good sites or links would be appreciated.

In my opinion, I wouldn't do it.. the case of an AW is such a pretty thing as is.. and though customizing it would be cool by all means, I would never take the risk.

That removable paint stuff you were talking about sounds like the right stuff though!

Yup ur right, im searching for like laptop tattoo, or vinyl sticker or something like that at this moment. I couldnt find temporary spray that stick right but yet temporary. I probably permanent paint when the warranty is out of date which is 2 years from now. Yeah i tell the AW rep i dont want to risk it to tho.

Maybe try a sign shop, see if you can have a static type sticker made to your liking. I now one here in a small town that can make them so you might be able to find one near you. Would look nice and easy to take off with no residue.
