5760 Doesn't have video when returning from Standby

I have a sager 5760 with a GeForce Go 7800, and when I update the display drivers to the latest version, I no longer get an image when I come back from standby. As an interim solution, I've just reinstalled the original drivers, which didn't have this problem, but that's obviously not an optimal solution since one wants to have the latest version of the display drivers, right?

Anyone?

i'm sure this won't apply to you since i infer that with your old drivers, this problem was solved, but for me on my 9860 ... it meant a MOB replacement.

This is most probably driver related and happens to me too since I updated the drivers beyond 79.xx. Just hit the Fn+F7 key combo like switching between internal and external display, it should work. No need to go back to older driver if the current is working otherwise.

You can also try shutting the lid and opening it again once it comes out of standby. This activates the laptop screen for me using the latest drivers from Sager(86.63) with a 7950 GTX.

You can also use hibernation instead of standby, a bit slower, but all components are powered completely off. Might be a bit better for longevity.
