Hey everyone, i'm looking to put together a 6400 laptop for myself. I built an M170 and then an M1710 after that which is my current laptop. Its just too big, i travel a lot and i cant bring it with me its too cumbersome. Its a shame too, i set the system up perfectly, i built it from the ground up, getting the best deal on parts where i could.

Anyways i'm building a 6400, and the dell service manual is really all you need to help put together one. But i just came across the wifi card, i guess you all know its very unique. Is there anyway to get one of these? I dont know how to search for them. Im surei could call dell but they would probably charge a fortune. I dont get why the 6400 doesnt use a mini pci or other slot?

i will be selling my M1710, most likely on ebay soon but if anyones interested let me know! its fully loaded

Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0Ghz 4Mb L2 cache
17" True Life WUXGA 1900x Lcd
2GB PC2-5200 Ram
80GB 7200Rpm Sata drive
7900 GTX GO
Bluetooth built in w/ Logitech mouse
1490 WiFi
8x DVD-RW

I've reformatted the system, reinstalled XP and preloaded it with only useful utilities, nothing to slow the pc down. I've put in a customized version of XP Pro modded for speed and reliability along with Ms Office w/ startup options removed. i also have a ton of games that come with: Scarface, Faces Of war, Call Of Duty, Company Of Heros, Fear, FEAR EP, Sin and a few more im working on getting C&C 3.

i will let it go much cheaper then ebay price if i can move it quickly and easily. I usually spend forever on my ebay listings, i get top doller for the items but i spend a whole day taking pictures and writing arealy nice description so i'd rather avoid that My ebay name is the same as my name here CHEZOUFF look it up on ebay seller search. i have 335 feedback all positive, you can email me through that name.

Use this to search: mini pci Dell Wireless 1390 and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 or you can search for like 6400 mini pci wireless card If you still have problems searching and you want buy a card, then heres a link for the 3945(intel pro wireless) that i bought on ebay to replace the dell wireless 1390: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160099822975

i was thinking of that but im building the laptop from scratch and trying to avoid dell.com because of their higher prices, i scour ebay and tryto get the best deal on the parts and i'm having trouble finding the 7400 for the m1210. im almost done with my 6400, i build em cheap enough so ican sell and at the least make $50-100
