Thanks Shazaa
I'll post my thoughts first thing, right after I install firefox.

In the email AW sent me, it says the delivery must be taken in person. I was wondering if a relative can take delivery, this is my first time dealing with Fedex. Would they release the package to a relative?

Should be no problem with a relative taking delivery ... just have them sign for it. My daughter has taken delivery of my Alienware systems.

To be safe, you can leave a note with your relative with your sig stating you authorize them to receive the package, but it's probably not necessarly.

Yeah, I've had a doorman sign for stuff before.. come to think of it, he signed for my last laptop too.

And congrats on ordering your new laptops! I hope they work well, and be sure to post a review or three.

Thanks for the input guys I usually get my packages from UPS and haven't had any issues with having my relatives sign for it. I was just worried that FedEx might not want that. Looking at my tracking page, it's still in Flordia and it's supposed to arrive in California by tuesday. I'm guessing they're going to fly it over?

They will let anyone sign as long as someone is at the delivery address.
Your laptop will take a somewhat leisurely stroll through Memphis where it will spend some time before making the next leg of its journey.

Thanks for the info PMan
My shipment jumped from Flordia to California last night. It's about 15-20 minutes from my house at the moment.

It's here, it's here!!!
Well actually, it's been here. My grandmother took delivery of it for me tueday afternoon and I didn't get home from work until 5:00pm. The Fedex box was a lot smaller than I expected by when I opened it up, boy was it pretty. The laptop is surprisingly quick, the vista performance base score actually beat some desktops! The keyboard is a bit awkward but I got used to it realtively quick. I'm still hitting the function key when I'm looking for the CTRL key though. Heat wise, it's not bad. I had it sitting on my lap one day and surprising enough, it felt much cooler than some Toshiba's I've used in the past. I'm very glad I went with the higher resolution, I love how much desktop space I have, and it comes in very handy when I'm working on homework. Here's a quick screenshot of the high resolution screen hard at work.
