A couple of months ago I was out of town and my wife accidentally cut the cord to the ac adapter on our 9200. I told her to order one from ebay by searching 9200 and she did. When I got home, I noticed she had gotten a generic charger and the battery would not charge. I checked the lights on the battery and nothing at all. I figured the battery was dead, so I ordered a new one from ebay and it arrived with 2 lights lit and placed it in the laptop and it woud start on battery power but when I plug in the charger it won't charge the battery. I checked in the bios and it is reporting both batteries as "idle" and it does the same in windows on the battery status screen. I have ordered a new oem charger and it should be here in a few days. I just found out however that when the charger first arrived the battery charging indicator was blinking orange for the first few times she used it and it just "STOPPED BLINKING" and ever since has not charged the battery. The first time she powered the laptop on she got the message:"the system cannot identify your ac apapter" she pressed f1 which disabled the message. I am horrified and worried that this generic charger has damaged the charging circuit on the motherboard somehow. Does anyone know if it is possible the system disabled the charging circuit on its own to prevent damage as the indicator now says "idle" for the battery and if there is a way to enable it again when i get the new adapter? thanks in advance.

thankss, stephanie.
