I have a Compaq R3320CA purchased about 2.5 yrs ago. The backlight died about a month ago with a dim screen and I have gone through the process of ordering the parts online to replace it. My original LG Philips LCD (model LP154W01 A3 K3) was wrecked when I tried to disassemble it to see if I could change the CCFL. Anyways that didn't work so I ordered a similar LCD (model LP154W01 A3). I also ordered a similar inverter (PK070018110) to my original (PK070018120). Now when I assembled the items together it doesn't fix the problem. The screen is still black.
My question is are these parts compatible to the original? Do they work with my laptop? I phoned HP support and their only suggestion was to send in the laptop to have it repaired by their technicians. I am in a hole here because I have spent $250 on parts already. I don't really want to spend another $400 to get HP to look at it. I might as well buy a new laptop. Anyways I can still use the laptop my plugging in an external monitor.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
