Hi, I just got my 8790 yesterday and been loading up OS and software.

1. No dead pixel
2. The system is ultra quiet until the fan kicks in. But even that it is still not that bad, it just that it kicks in whenever the system reach it certain temp.
3. Keyboard is rock solid, I have to get use to it first.
4. The 17 inch wide screen is beautiful.
5. System is built rock solid.
6. System is warm, but not hot.
7. AC adapter isn't that hot to me.

I am going to install second 80gb harddrive on the second slot today, and then I will see how much more heat it will generate. I am finding a way to get rid of the heat so that the fan doesn't kicks in every 5 min, its not that loud to me so i'm not really worry.

I am going to do some more overclock on the video card, right now its set to 500/304 without any problems.

The sound on the system is excellent, but I mainly use sound blaster audigy 2 when i'm in the basement, and since my basement is cold, it should help the system cool.

i don't know why you guys having so much wireless problem, once I installed the drivers and everything is going great, I have very good signal and everything works just fine to me.

I have to say, my impression of this laptop is awesome, I have to do more gaming and application testing to see how good the system is, but so far it is wonderful.

lol, i would take pics, but i don't have a digital camera, i don't want to use my camera on my phone cause its very low quality. But I assure you that this machine is a beauty. I overclocked the GPU to 515/315 without problems.

The fan isn't really all that loud, it might annoy people that the fan kicks in at a constant timing like every 5 min or so when reaches certain temp.

on a quick note, it appears to me there is a tiny little fan inside the ac adapter to cools off the adapter.

Darkness,

Can you see whether the Realtek Chip is socketed or soldered in?

I haven't opened up too much stuff on the sytem, but I believe the realtek chip is soldered into the board. The network runs great and as to wireless, I haven't have any problem with wireless at all like other users, I just install drivers and the then it runs perfect.

I have now discovered a dead pixel in the center of the screen, but you can only see it in certain color, but it annoy the hell out of me to know there is dead pixel, most people would really just let this go cause you cant really see it, but I have decided to order a brand new machine from pctorque hoping to get a perfect screen and return the old one.
