Hello,
I've been using Avid Xpress DV on my 8887 for some time now and can report it works very well. The only drawback occurs when using the software dual screen : video will not play back on the second monitor (the video window is just black)! I don't think this is a specific Avid issue though, as I've noticed certain quicktime movies have the same problem.
Anyone else encountered something similar to this?
On the plus side though, the 1600x1200 screen is great to work with (if somewhat blurry on motion - but I'm getting used to that) and the 3ghz processor means the real-time performance for mixes, keys etc is amazing. I've just completed work for a 47 minute programme for Discovery. All the graphics, editing and a large part of the track laying were done on the same machine! I wouldn't award Clevo many points for "aesthetic design", but they can certainly build laptops that WORK.
