M1210: Strange Boot-up behaviour after BIOS upgrade!

I'm kicking myself for uppgrading the BIOS from A05 -> A06 two days ago!

Ever since the upgrade, when I boot the laptop everything goes smoothly till I get to the login screen [ I set it up to require user name and pwd ..aka the ctrl+alt+del login feature .. ] ... and the screen goes blank.. I don't get the login screen and have to power off and re-start..

Upon a restart, sometimes it'll boot up fine, other times I have to restart again..

Before I call Tech Support, is there anyone else facing similar issues since the upgrade ? Or, would anyone happen to know what may have happened..

I did a ' Safe Mode ' boot and it booted up fine.. but I only did that once so..

Also, ever so often when I plug in the AC Adapter to charge the down battery [system is on] the computer just freezes!! And, once again, I have to hold down the power button and re-start

Any insight would be helpful before I bang my head with Dell's Techies over the phone..

Thanks!

I would load a system restore point from when it was working fine, 'cos I don't think the BIOS would have much (if anything) to do with it... it sounds like a Windows/ software related issue.

It is not a BIOS issue. Because I too have the same problem even under A05 BIOS version. It happens very rarely for me, therefor I just didn't bother fixing it. Most probably a VGA driver issue or something like that.
