Dell Quickset - crap?

First of all, because of the absolutely retarded 'put the operating system on the harddrive' idea, I ended up having to install another operating system, meaning I had to go out and install all the drivers myself.

Now, for some reason, dell quickset requires me to go to itunes before any of the song change buttons will work. This completely defeats the purpose of these buttons, and makes a pretty big inconvenience for me. I have the same problem with the volume buttons (so basically all the buttons) in games.

This is a bit of an inconvenience, considering all the volume wheels and stuff work on other computers all the time. Any way I can solve this?

Umm, so where do you want to install the operating system if not for the laptop's hard drive?

lol.

your solution is to uninstall Dell quickset. As quickly as you can. It's bloatware hotkey crap virtually nobody uses. Why do you need to quickly change settings if you're happy with the settings and the hotkey configs? And if you really DO need to change a few settings, the control panel's right there; just a couple of clicks away. remove all Dell bloatware as fast as humanly possible.

Yes, but if I uninstall it the keys wont work at all, will they? I'm talking about the buttons on the bottom of the 6400 inspiron. I mean they dont put the OS install on a CD, they put it on the harddrive, which pretty much defeats the purpose (but you knew that)
