question about notebook adaptor

The AC adaptor that comes with the G1 is about the size of a brick-bat and basically gets in the way (takes up too much room in my carrying case and such).
Can you purchase 3rd party adaptors to replace the original, or is this not an alternative?

Hehe

You need massive power supplies for massive notebooks. Werent you advocating carrying an extra 3 pound secondary battery too?

LOL

Kidding... hey, I been eyeing a product APC puts out. Its a transformer that plugs both into the wall and 12v car outlet, provides laptop power and a small USB hub that is power only, for PDAs and cell phones, whatnot. Lots of adapters to fit your eq. You just need to figure out your wattage and make sure you arent drawing too much, lest you fry your adapter or worse... The product comes with thier backpack. I like the idea of a central charging solution, since I carry a portable printer as well.

I have this mental pic of dashby shoving bananas and tin cans down a "mr. fusion" hard wired to his lappy. LOL

Just havin fun dashby

yeah..yeah..I probably asked for all that. Seriously, I don't mind the weight and size of my notebook, but the ac-adapter just takes up a lot of room in my notebook-case. It's thick and bulky. If they had taken the same mass, but shaped it into a longer/thinner box it would be much easier to tote.
