Dell E1505 and Ati drivers 7.3

Thread Starter
Does anyone know if ati's newest drivers 7.3 work with the dell E1505 and a ati x1400 video card? I've heard that Ati got rid of oem support and that only 7.2 and below work now. Is this true or bogus?

Thanks

Impossible ATI stated offically no laptop Drivers for 7.3 for vista. Unless you have unreleased drivers.

Unless you have unreleased drivers.

The 7.2 drivers were the exact same file for both laptops and desktops. I'm pretty sure 7.3 works exactly the same way.

try and install them

they won't install

THEY DON'T support the mobile cards.

Check ATi's page they point to the 7.2's

end of story.

Actually they point to a page which tells you they aren't offering them for download, as of yesterday. When he said they "got rid of OEM support" he meant it. All traces of the drivers removed just like the generic XP mobility's. Anyway, if you run the official ATI generic updater that appears in the Programs and Features control panel, it will update your driver to the latest generic. According to the Catalyst Control Center it's still considered "7.2", but it's a newer display driver, it's not OEM, and it fixed issues. I don't know why they didn't just call it 7.3, because as far as I can tell CCC didn't really change from 7.2 to 7.3 anyway, and the driver is dated 4/4/2007, so it was released about when 7.3 was.
