Compaq Presario C509nr CPU upgrade?

I have a Compaq Presario C509NR:

with a Celeron M 440 (1.86GHz) CPU and Intel 945GML chipset. I have upgraded the memory to 2GB.

I wanna try and upgrade the CPU to a Core Duo or Core2 Duo. I have installed the latest BIOS, F.14A and Windows XP SP2 with the current Celeron M and it works great.

I purchased a T2050, 1.60GHz, 2MB cache, 533 FSB, but it will not post. I just receive a BLANK screen with the Fans spinning up, but I do not see anything on the screen. Putting the Celeron back in, the laptop boots fine.

Latest BIOS states support for "Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor T5500."


Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone performed an upgrade on the C5xx series? These are very similar to the C3xx series.

Did you ever figured out how to get the T2050 upgrade to work? I started a thread over here with a failed attempt to upgrade to a T5500:
