Given Up.....Downgrading to XP MCE

I used Vista for 2 days, and gave up. I need to downgrade to XP MCE, but i have files that need saved. I attempted XP install over vista, but not my files, and it failed. So i know i need to reformat and try again, but i need some files. Is there a linux live distro that i can use to partition, mount, and transfer files from my windows partition?

Thanks!

knoppix is the first one that comes to mind, buts its a huge download...

you can use any livecd with the right commands, i think linux mint automatically mounts your ntfs drive, try that.

Care to share your predicaments with Vista? I'm planning to order my new e1505. It will be my first Vista so I have to be sure.

Why did you give up? I have been on Vista for a two weeks now and like it alot, so much that I ordered a new E521 with Vista. The first day, I hated it, the second day, I loved it... As soon as i turned off alot of security features, like the allow/disallow crap, everything worked out so much better. i got the Vista for Dummies book, and it told me alot.

Free Linux Distro would be Ubuntu (Its only 1 CD)

Download Here

Also about the Vista issues i would say wait a little longer since drivers have not matured yet for the new OS.
