HP repeat customer discount?

What does it take to be considered a repeat customer and what kind of discount could I expect?

For example, I need a multi-function printer. So, if I order one from HP and the turn around and order my laptop, could I get the discount? Can't be that easy, but it's a thought...

I have purchased many different HP products over the years, but they did not even ask me what they were. I got 10% off my new notebook by calling th 1-800 phone # and ordering that way. I think if you just told them that you have purchased some HP products that will suffice.

Jmans, that svcks. If it were me if would press the salesrep and insist that I would get the 10% from knowing that others have gotten that. I wonder if that salesperson had to take a cut in their commission for giving a bigger discount? Anyway, it may not matter for me if I can't get my new rig to play or install games correctly. I refuse to pay $2988 for a rig that isn't able to install a game or not freeze up while playing. To be fair, I haven't had a chance to delve into the problem much yet. I will probably do a clean install of the OS when I get the chance. But for that much cash that shouldn't be necessary.

Please keep us posted on the stability issues. I am about to pull the trigger on this machine and I don't want to send another one back.

Hehe.... well, I have been messing around with this rig now for a few hours doing various *system restores* and checking out all drivers, etc. I actually did a system restore to the first point when I got this laptop, but it still had the same problems installing/playing 2 to 4 year old games. I'm not too happy right now!! My next course of action will be to do a clean install, but I have quite a few apps loaded onto the rig already that I want to keep. I am still quite a newb at most of this stuff too. I am starting a new thread on this board asking for help with the clean install. I will keep you posted if I can isolate the problem or at least get it fixed. Otherwise I guarantee that I will be sending this back. I am quite please with it otherwise and am sure this is not a normal problem with all nc8000's,but it still svcks to have to be doing this to a brand new $3000 machine.
