HP QuickPlay 3 & Vista

Thread Starter
I have HP Pavilion dv9000z running Vista Business and I would like to know is there HPQPDP ( QuickPlay Direct ) version 3 available. I know there is Windows only version but what about bootable one? I had v2.3 on Windows XP but it's gone now as I installed Vista. Partition is still there. Tried installing 2.3 on Vista, can't do that. So, i assume only v3 can be installed. If new laptops running Vista have QuickPlay v3 on them, where can I find it and download it.

If you stay with Vista, forget about booting into quickplay! Vista does not support that. However if you go back to XP you will have the operturnity to use quickplay from a cold boot as it does support quickplay direct! The only version of quickplay for windows Vista is 3.0. Hope this is some help on information related to quickplay.

What about if he installs Quickplay for Vista is 3.0 while his existing partitian is still there on the computer? Will it work with Vista installed?
He's not creating the QuickPlay Direct Partitian from scratch, it's still there from 2.3.

You can install version 2.3 of QP Direct alongside Vista. See these instructions on page 44 of this thread: http://www.notebookforums.com/showth...25#post2542025 Try installing without assigning the partition a drive letter; if it fails, assign it drive letter X: and try again. Make sure the QP partition is the VERY LAST one on your drive!

Quickplay Direct 2.3 still works alongside Vista, since it runs from its own partition. I have it working and wrote up instructions: http://www.notebookforums.com/showth...25#post2542025 Not much more involved than jockeying partitions a bit.

Right now the only thing I can offer is for people to send blank media (2) +r or –r doesn’t make a difference to me. I’ll mail you the burned disks. I’ll have to figure how to manage the shipping costs. But this is the only solution I can think of to get the information out there to people now. I wish I could, but I CANNOT upload the files as my upload speed is very slow and would take almost 7.5-8 hours to upload.

If anyone has any suggestions for distributing the files, let me know.
