Are there any well-known, reputable sites where the F3SV can be found? Has it hit the market yet?

When I say well-known, I'm talking newegg, tiger direct, etc. I'm sure Gentech is a good site but I wouldn't want to buy from them since I've never heard of them..That's just my opinion

You should probably use resellerratings.com/store to justify anyone's responses. Note: Just because you haven't heard of a company doesn't mean you shouldn't buy from them! GentechPC is a very promising source of Asus laptops.

I checked on GenTech's site, and they're talking pre-orders, so that most likely means that they don't have them yet. Newegg should have them when Asus gets a sizable shipment of them from Taiwan, which I'd guess should happen sometime within the next month, based on my pre-ordering experience with the Z71v, but as to when exactly they'll arrive is anyone's guess.

i don't understand why asus g1 is more expensive than asus c90?
Desktop processors cost less than notebook ones.

The C90 looks real good. I may consider getting this model to replace the ol' Sager in another few months.

When do you reckon Asus will release this in the UK? Has anyone seen it in any .co.uk sites?

Hey GenTechPC! I was lookin at your website (www.gentechpc.com) and I saw the F3SV's come with a carrying case. It says that the carrying case is included (back pack for G1 and G2). Does that mean if I buy a F3SV that I'll get the backpack that comes with the G1 and G2 as my included case? Cuz that would be amazing!

Hey Gentech, what's the battery life supposed to look like on the C90? Any word from Asus?

oh ok thanks. Do you think you'd end up writing a full-length review for those of us who are looking into the C90 but not ready to relinquish a hard-earned cash?

Hi, I'm considering purchasing the C90 from Gentech computers. I have a few questions about the system :

1. Is the graphics card an 8600 GT or plain vanilla 8600?

2. What does it mean by saying "upgradeable video card?" Does that mean I'll be able to easily swap it with a more powerful card once it comes out? (8800m gtx? )

3. Should I opt for the c90 or the one that uses santa rosa? The instant single core overclock sounds great for games. I guess I should just hope that more games would start using both cores.

4. My needs - I'll be using it for college work a lot, programming, 3d modeling and animation (a lot of rendering) and of course, I'm an extreme gamer. The last part brings me to my concern : overall, a lot of people don't seem to be impressed by the 8600 cards, and some claim that the perfomance is only on par with the 7900 gs.

Is it reasonable to expect the perfomance to at least match that of the 7950 gt
in the near future, once better drivers come out? Or is it only useful for playing DX-10 only games at the lowest settings?

Obviously it's foolish to expect the battery charge to last more than an hour on this one, since I'm going to do quite a lot of heavy work on it most of the time, but it'd be nice if it lasts a little more on the occasional light loads (like web browsing). I'd also love to know how much difference a 9-cell battery would make. I'm eagerly awaiting the battery test review (a full review would be awesome ).

The graphics card is an 8600GT 512mb Dedicated MXM II card meaning it can be upgraded in the future. There are 3 MXM configurations, you would have to use the MXM II configuration which is usually reserved for mid to mid-high range cards but not so much the high end ones (MXM III).

The only advantage I can see to santa rosa is battery life, other than that, processor doesnt much matter unless you are an intense video editor or encoder, etc. Conroes should do it better though but at the cost of battery life.

I don't know what the performance will be on the 8600GT videocard, I will test when my unit arrives.

On that note, I just ordered one from gentechpc, hopefully it will come soon ^_^

Hi GentechPC, I sent 2 mails asking pre-sales questions on Asus C90S a week ago and receive no reply whatsoever. Don't you service international order and ignore non US potentials?

if you want an instant answer call them.

If Gentech hasn't answered your questions you could just post them here perhaps one of us knows the answer...
