E1705 CPU Upgrade

Thread Starter
My e1705 currently has a T2500 in it and I've been thinking about swapping a T7200 in. I have a few questions though, will the bios recognize it ok or will I need to look for a specific bios version for it? Will the T7200 run any cooler? I've taken a look at the service manuals for the e1705 and it really doesn't look like it'll be that difficult doing the switch, is there anything I should keep an eye out for? Thanks!

I don't think you'll see any difference in heat, really. Just use the latest BIOS and you should be fine. Everyone is reporting the switch is really easy, so go ahead!

It's not difficult at all. grab some arctic silver to keep it cool. New cpu will drop right in. Your systeem will recognize it just fine. Make sure your running the newest system bios for your 1705 before you get started. All you need is a phillips screwdriver and maybe a torx set for the heatsink on the cpu

The cpu cooler on mine needs a philips screw driver and the cpu socket release is a flat headed screw driver, i needed no torx drivers at anytime to change the cpu.
I dropped in the t7400 last week and it was a breeze. My cpu temps are up but i expected that.
