Need Video Card Fan for i8600!

Hi Guys,

Long time since I have been here.. mostly because my i8600 is still going strong... well somewhat.. The Little fan on the 9600 Pro Turbo video card is about done! it is quite loud and doesn't spin as fast as it used to...

Is there a a way to get a replacement fan? It is on held in with a few screws and has a connector so you can unplug it...

Any help would be GREAT! Didn't have any luck on Dell's nor ATI's websited regarding a replacement...
Thanks

Don't think you are going to have much luck just getting the fan on the card itself. Maybe if you could find a busted card on ebay or something for cheap and salvage the fan from it? Otherwise, maybe get a can of compressed air and make sure that it is not just a build-up of dust causing the issue.

Hello,

My name is Mike, I’m a Technical Analyst located at Dell corporate headquarters in Round Rock, TX. I’m part of an internet outreach team developed to interact with the online community regarding technical questions and issues that customers face with Dell products. I have actually replaced video card fans before, it can be tricky finding the correct size, but it is possible. Usually the best way to find a match is to take either the fan or the entire video card to a computer specialty shop (usually local mom and pop shops are best for this) and having them see if they have a fan with the same dimensions and connection. I was lucky enough to come across a local shop that took old broken equipment and gave discounts for them, then stripped the good parts and resold them. Unfortunately this shop was located in Austin, TX which probably won’t help you where you are, but I’m sure if you look you can find someone who does the same thing in your area. Before you go through all of that trouble though, I would suggest taking the advice of sakor 1 and trying to clean out the fan with some compressed air. It may end up saving you a lot of time and little cash. I hope this helps.

Thank you,
