Ok, I got this laptop last week and I haven't done anything to it and I've been especially careful when it comes to moving it, so I don't think I've damaged anything.

Basically if I'm listening to a song, it crackles and pops, and sometimes the audio becomes distorted very slightly for a brief moment. I'd say I get clear audio about 80% of the time, the rest of the time the audio IS playing but with those annoying pops and cracks. It's like listening to a record on a gramophone, and it's scratched so it has those retches and stuff... If that's a way to describe it.

It's not solely the speakers. I've connected headphones to the laptop and the problem still exists.

I've tried various things to solve it:

1. I disabled the microphone and line-in audio ( on my old laptop, it would pick up interference and cause horrible sounds at higher volumes ).
2. It uses that RealTek HD Audio Manager software, and I've tried to change the quality at which the sound plays it.
3. Reinstalling the drivers.
4. I believe I updated the drivers at one point (before reinstalling them), as the dates don't exactly match up.

None of these have worked.

I'm about to just throw in the towel and take this back to the store from where I got it, but I want to know if there's ANYTHING else I can do before doing that.

Thanks in advance.
