yeah bad news!!

estimated ship date is June 11 on the configurator page..
perhaps it s a not so bad. i would say, that alienware m9750 is goin out with dx10 cards.

I think it is because the C2D T5500 "delays" your order by 5 days, and it is one of the default options. If you click on the date it gives you more details. If you choose another processor, it comes sooner, so I think it's still on track (52 days build time as opposed to 50 days is within normal fluctuations...not delay).

The 'ship date' of the 9750 has been going up pretty much every day. I check it often for price changes.

Shalamar, when is your ship date?
Well doesn't the configuration you have affect the estimated ship date?
Yes, it does. The best i can configure now is 6/4/07.

You guys shouldn't be surprised at this - this is a usual occurance with a high-end pre-order gaming lappy with AW. There always seem to be delays due to the incredibly high amounts of pre-orders they are receiving as well as the initiation of a supply chain set up for a new product.

Don't worry though, AW will deliver you laptops eventually and it will be worth the wait, trust me!
There may be delays, but AW is also taking orders, so when they get a days worth of orders, the estimated ship date for the next orders moves...
And they take your money for something that isn't even built or shipped yet.

That is one thing that I don't like about AW.. and it's also illegal.
well, they usually only charge you a deposit of $500, at least that's what they did with the m9700's. they remainder wasn't charged until the unit was shipped. Is it different now for the m9750...
It's not illegal.

Not illegal if they tell you up front. It's not all that uncommon when you order custom equipment.

People always have the option not to order one until the shipping dates are closer...that's the Catch 22 Alienware is in with the m9750. Don't announce it, people order the m9700 and are upset in 2-3 months. Announce it, and everyone is impatient. Just holllllddddd your horsies.

I really wouldn't call that a delay. I would guess that a lot of people have ordered the system already and there is a backlog now. Also, some parts are probably harder to source than others.

I think this is one of the more anticipated platforms that Alienware has offered. There is nothing else out there like it yet.
metal is correct, the backlog is growing every day so the Estimated ship date changes with every order placed

It should be almost considered a "pre-order" with more than 50 day build times, even for those who got it within hours of its release, it was 50 days build time.

I thought people knew that it was going to be like that...

This is all standard operating procedure for new AW computers. We just got a fresh list of new people ordering for the first time. You just can not be in a hurry when you order a AW...
