hi naj
i'm looking to buy a tablet convertible laptop also. i have a 17 inch gateway laptop now and havne't had any problems with it. but like you, i can't find anyone that actually owns this convertible. i also see that they now have a 12 inch version with wacom. i saw hp's 12 convertible in a store and as much as i like the "look" of the 12 inch, i think it's just to small for more than a hour or 2. if you've found anyone that has used one, please let me know. thanks

Hey well i was looking for some info myself about the CX210X. Well the thing with gateway is there customer service. That's why i believe ppl dont like them. I called them cuz i thought my video card fan wasnt working. So they said that they gladly take a look at it, but that i had to send it to them and pay the shipping and handling. What kind of warrenty is that. the shipping and handling was more than the part they would of have to replace if it was bad. And i dont know if its me but this lab top gets very hot. The lamp for the display is right next to the video card and ram and the fan on the video card doesnt turn on till i think way to late, and its weak. ive only had mine for 5 weeks and im starting to regret it already. the customer service is wats making me worry. if something goes wrong im still going to have to pay regardless of the warrenty.

gXXrgone,

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your CX210X laptop. I think there is a disconnect between what we consider good customer service and what companies think is good customer service. Having to ship the laptop to them to get fixed would freak me out. I purchased an inhouse support contract with the gateway that I have now and will do the same thing should I buy another one. I've read posts that said that we would be better off buying laptops from stores like costco because of their return policy. I don't have an answer on how to resolve your problem. Hopefully, someone will respond to help you.
