z70v fan problems!

Hey all,

I've had this laptop for about 2 years now, it's a solid machine, but the one thing that bugs me about the laptop is the fan issues when gaming. Every time I try to play a more graphics-intensive game, the fan on the right side of the laptop (not sure which one that is) spins like crazy, every 5-10 seconds. This usually occurs after I've been gaming for about 20-30 minutes. It's virtually impossible to play games once this happens because the graphics just seem to lag when the fan spins, then it settles, then it spins again ... etc. The fan also sounds really loud, but I've read that this happens from time to time.

Anyone have this problem, or have any idea what's going on? I'm wondering if there is something really wrong with the fan, or is this normal and I should just get a laptop cooler?

Ok, I used Speedfan to see what was going on, but apparently I can't control "Speed02" - does this mean that my fan is broken?

I'm not sure what to tell you. My experience with the fans on my Z70Va is less than stellar. I just sent mine in the other day to fix the audio board again and the gpu fan as well. Its a solid laptop but mine seem to kick it every few months.

My z70va gpu fan is also dying - I start up my machine, look at speedfan, if I see the gpu fan is at 0rpm, I have to shut down, put my vacuum hose against the vent and suck on it a bit to get the fan spinning, then reboot the machine, and the fan shows to be working.

This is starting to happen EVERY time now though. Any other suggestions? Do I have to send it in again? Or can I have someone replace it for me?
