the 7400 will perform similar to your x1300, I don't know if Hp has a forum.....though I would suspect they do, if not then prob chat.

Actually, the 7400 is somewhat better than the x1300.

great...i was thinking it might be better than the x1300, thought it might be around the x1400, or was hoping it would be..... the 17 inch pallion has a better video card, but that is just too big to lug around....the 15.4 is big

yeah, i hear ya. i have a 15.4 and taking it back and forth to school, and back and forth to work, plus travelling....well, sometimes i really wish i had gotten a 14.1 inch screen or maybe even a 12 inch. the real estate is really nice when you are watching a movie or working with spreadsheets, but it sur can be a hassle lugging it around.

Still, most of my friends opted for 17 inchers, and i warned em they wouldnt wanna drag it around much. all of them told me i was wrong. its been six months and not a single one of them has taken it out of the house more than twice and every one of them said i was right.

I think 15.4 is the biggest you can go and still be mobile but truly mobile means smaller still. its a compromise between productivity and travelability.
