Toshiba vs Fujitsu Siemens

I am from South Africa and need to buy a notebook. I have narrowed it down to 2 possibilities and I need you advice/help in selecting the right one. Here are the choices:

Toshiba P100-437 vs Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Xi 1554

Both of the notebooks has almost the same features. Here are some similarities/differences:

Both Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7400
Both 17"

Toshiba FS
2.16 Ghz 2.0 Ghz
200 Gb HDD 2x120 Gb HDD
2 GB RAM 1 GB RAM
Geforce Go 7900 512 ATI X1900 256
TruBrite® WSXGA WUXGA LCD CrystalView

If I convert from rand to dollar, the pricing here is as follows:

Toshiba (As is) FS (including another 1Gb Ram)
$2,869 $2,445.04

The Toshiba is a little more, but around here there is a perception that Toshiba and HP notebooks are the best.

Here are the websites:

I will appreciated any advice/input.

How is your comment remotely connected to what I have asked?

I am a Toshiba fan, but my laptop (P105-S9339) has been in the shop for a month because the HD died. It is the 200Gig one as well. They are backordered.

If getting service is an issue in SA, I would get the Fujitsu. If not, the Toshiba would be my first choice.

Be aware that I am basing this solely on my Toshiba, as I have no experience with FS.

Hi,
I am a Toshiba Satellite fan. I love those babies... BUT... I recently purchased my First Siemens laptop (and I work for Siemens too) and I am in love again! I now own a v3205. 2GB upgraded. Getting a 200GB SATA Seagate 7200 RPM this week.

REasons:
1. Siemens is Smaller, lighther and cheaper. I am comparing money versus size for that budget.
2. Siemens comes with BIOS level support for SATA drives. Installing XP Pro took only 20 mins of configuring (yes that is too long but it was my first experience with a SATA)
3. Toshiba DOES NOT have any SATA support and you have to look for the SATA drivers on the US website. It is a MESS. Took me THREE DAYS to configure two laptops to finally be able to install XP PRO on them. This is a bad idea for Toshiba.
