Hi guys,

Im looking to buy a toshiba notebook soon can anyone who already own any/both of Tecra M2 and/or S1 give comments on which one si better in term of:
Performance (1.7gHzs)
3D games
Wireless features(bluetooth etc)
Mobility
Long term use

What I know is both of them have excellent battery life and seems to be quite sturdy.

Also which one is better to have, Centrino or Hyper-Threading technology?
Alternativelly if I am more heavy into 3Dgames but not wanting to lose the features of Tecra, which other brand/model should I look and consider?

Mainly Ill be using it mobile/work&games at 25%/75% respectivelly, and if im getting either one im going to get the highest if not the 2nd highest config.
atm im using satellite pro 6600.
Recommendations and helps appreciated, Thanks!

I purchased the tecra m2 about 3 weeks ago and I cant think of owning anything else. First off Hyperthreading is over rated!!! Some programs utilize this feature but many do not and even so, you would have to buy a laptop with a desktop processor in it to get the hyperthreading. This means crappy battery life and a really hot chassis. The intel pentuim m chip found in the centrino laptops is amazing. First off a 1.5 gig pentium m will perform as good as a 2.4 p4 with half the heat and a third of the power consumption.

The tecra m2 is an amazing machine. I have the 1.5, 64mb vid card, 1 gig ram, 60 gig hard drive and this thing rocks!! Personally tested on my own laptop, I was able to get 4.5 hours on a battery while doing a mix of games, internet surfing, and dreamweaver mx. As for game performance it should be more than adequate. I tested on 3DMark2001se several times at all resolutions and my scores ranges from 6307 to 6479. That is great considering the low power processor and vid card, it will play all of my games just fine which include: bf1942, rise of nations, sims, tiger woods pga2003.

In short there is no way I would give up the tecra m2 for anything else. It has style, quality construction, it is thin and light and has all of the features of a conusmer laptop plus the extra benefits of a business laptoop.

Makes sense to me glad you like your machine -- just to clarify though only thing is the toshiba p25's and other toshiba's with the desktop versions of the p4 (mine is 2.8 p4 800 fsb with ht) do not get hot at all the cooling setup that toshiba engineered is really superior and the fans are super quiet.
