Thread Starter
I am trying to put together a good gaming notebook and stay with a $2000 budget.
the following Dell is priced at $1688 and includes an additional battery and wireless mouse.

<TABLE id=sc_review_selections_table><TBODY><TR class=odd><TD class=scrtd2>Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB)</TD><TD class=scrtd3>edit</TD></TR><TR class=even><TD class=scrtd1>OPERATING SYSTEM</TD><TD class=scrtd2>FREE Upgrade to Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium with 1GB of memory</TD><TD class=scrtd3>edit</TD></TR><TR class=odd><TD class=scrtd1>LCD PANEL</TD><TD class=scrtd2>17 inch Wide Screen XGA+ TFT Display with TrueLife™(glossy)</TD><TD class=scrtd3>edit</TD></TR><TR class=even><TD class=scrtd1>MEMORY</TD><TD class=scrtd2>2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz</TD><TD class=scrtd3>edit</TD></TR><TR class=odd><TD class=scrtd1>HARD DRIVE</TD><TD class=scrtd2>FREE! 120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive</TD><TD class=scrtd3>edit</TD></TR><TR class=even><TD class=scrtd1>OPTICAL DRIVE</TD><TD class=scrtd2>24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive</TD><TD class=scrtd3>edit</TD></TR><TR class=odd><TD class=scrtd1>VIDEO CARD</TD><TD class=scrtd2>256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS</TD><TD class=scrtd3>edit</TD></TR><TR class=even><TD class=scrtd1>SOUND OPTIONS</TD><TD class=scrtd2>Integrated Audio
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Will this be a good gaming machine?

indeed it will.
keep in mind look into what types of game you will be playing.
I consider myself a power user, and play a few advanced games. my 7800 go was good, feedback on the 7900 gs is even better.
you can always find upgrade parts as time goes on, as I have as well, but honestly i have no problems gaming with my system. good luck

That would make a great gaming machine. But you can get that same system for about 400 less if you search the outlet. www.dell.com/outlet

Get one cheaper on DELL Outlet, also a DVD burner should be a nice upgrade.

Best time to look is during the AM where fewer people will snatch up great systems.
