Do you have Vista on any sort or media: retail, recovery or oem? Also what is coming tomorrow, a Vista CD or your new laptop. Some more details would be helpful especially your model as someone might have the same experience as yourself and can cut right to the chase.
I am getting whatever comes with a new laptop w/o paying for the additional recovery disks. It's not a retail version - it comes with the pc. I just burned two dvd's with the recovery software on it. It also comes with an "upgrade your vista experience" dvd. I'm just wanting to get an install without all the bundle-ware garbage that usually comes with these things.
I believe someone posted how you could re-install just Vista (not all the bundleware garbage) from one of the dvds/recovery dvd set. I think just running the normal recovery also installs the bundleware back on.
Well you said fresh install, meaning from scratch with just the bare OS and no programs. Otherwise, if you want to reinstall Vista but have all the crap from HP, then you need a recovery, not a fresh install.
