m7700 motherboard question

If I have a rev 5.3 mobo. in my m7700 thats still running OK would it be a better choice to just keep it or would I benefit much by upgrading to the rev 6.1 mobo with the 7800 gt vid card?? Does the rev 6.1 board work with my p4 3ghz. space heater cpu??

yes you will benefit alot from the 6.1+7800
it will run cooler
& it will fit the same space heater

If I know how to build a desktop computer from scratch then should I be able to replace the motherboard in my m7700?? Is there a turtorial for that here?

Those pics are cool. Thank You. I'm very comfortable with messing with desktops but I'm a litle nervous about taking apart the alien. It looks like you have to do it in a specific order. It would be fun I'm sure. I'd like to put an AMD board in it with an Fx60 or something in it.

be carefull it's not that easy
this is a hardass laptop
it took me 5 hours to change the MOBO
