I recommend burning a live cd and checking that it all boots and recognises your hardware.

Then you can reboot into edgy, it should pick up the live cd as a local repository, and you can upgrade. Be sure your own data is backed up of course, and i would recommend backing up your /usr/X11/xorg.conf as well.

I assume he has an Ubuntu M90 because of the feedback Dell got (and responded to) regarding Linux and laptops. Hot question is of course, is he using the restricted NVIDIA drivers for his shiny 3500 video card or is it sitting there pretending to be a 512M VGA adapter

Haha did anyone read the specs for the Hard Drive on his 12 inch notebook? Where can I get one of those?

I think the whole thing is bs, dreamed up by the marketing department. MS has Bill, Apple has Steve, and Dell has Michael. Problem is most people think Michael is an android in a business suit so they finally decided to humanize him. What better way than for him to use Ubuntu, Linux for humans?
