help upgrading presario c500 ram

Thread Starter
hi,

i recently bought presario c551 (c500 series) but it only came with a 256 ram.
i read somewhere that someonehad the same notebookand have upgraded the ram to 2 gigs.
id like to ask how they did this, and how many memory slots does the presario come with. my memory slot still has a waranty stiker on it and id first like to make sure if i could upgrade before i open it up.
also, what type of ram should i buy that's the best fit for the system

here are the specs:

celeron m 440 (1.8ghz, 1mb l2 cache, 533 mhz fsb)
intel graphics media acceleratio 950
memory included on purchase: 256

thanks

You have two (2) memory slots on your laptop according to Compaq/HP: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...376438&lang=en each with 256MB of ram. You can put upto 2GB of ram (1GB in each slot) of either 533MHz or 667MHz DDR2 SODIMM. Here is what I used, QTY 2: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820231069 MrAce21
